Pesti Guard: A Pesticide Residue Detection Machine
PestiGuard technology has been developed at Patanjali Research
Foundation to
detect the various pesticide groups viz.Carbamate, Imids,
Methyoxyacrylate strobiluron, Organochloride, Organophosphate, Quinone, Sulfonylurea,
Triazine,
Triazinone and Triazole. This innovative system operates on the Acetylcholinesterase (AChE)
inhibition principle by a diverse array of pesticides that bind to its active site.
Utilizing a
novel paper strip, PestiGuard leverages the concept of enzyme inhibition to detect
pesticides in
food commodities, effectively identifying residues across 10 distinct groups. Its extensive
detection range ensures precise pesticide residue detection, thereby enhancing food safety
and
ensuring regulatory compliance. The PestiGuard Technology introduces a new age of innovation
in
pesticide testing, with its user-centric design and extensive capabilities, protecting
consumers
and rewarding industry stakeholders equally.
In the realm of dairy, adulterants are often added to enhance shelf life and quality,
particularly
solid- not-fat (SNF) content. A novel, rapid method also targets the detection of the seven
most
common milk adulterants such as Formaldehyde, Hydrogen peroxide, Starch, Sodium
hypochlorite,
Neutralizer, Urea and Glucose using a single test-strip. This involves immersing the strip,
which
houses multiple test pads, into the milk sample and observing color changes to determine the
presence or absence of various adulterants.
